Perfect for people looking for a bit of a challenge but who are limited on time. Morro Peak is only 16km away from Jasper so the driving time is short, the hike itself is up a trail to the summit where you will get an outstanding view of the Athabasca River Valley and the surrounding area. It is less crowded then some of Jasper's other trails but it is close to the highway so although we are off the beaten track we can hear the highway.
Driving time to trail head: Fifteen Minutes
Total distance of hike: 8km/4-5hours
Total elevation gain: 600m

Roche Bonhomme “Old Man Mountain”

Close to town, epic views, challenging and steep. We are now offering guided hikes of Roche Bonhomme, our famous “Old Man Mountain” of Jasper. Those looking for a challenge, but not wanting to spend a long time driving should inquire about this tour. Due to the challenging nature of this hike, you will need to contact us directly to book.

Summit of Opal Peak
OPAl Peak
The Opal Hills Loop Trail is a more challenging summit adventure, the trail to Opal Peak starts at Maligne Lake behind the historic Curly Philips boathouse and makes it way up through the forest to an alpine meadows. This hike is very steep but during wildflower seasons it is worth the effort and the ocean of mountains viewed from the summit is amazing. (available after July 1)
